Carla Papa is an elementary French teacher with the GECDSB. In 2008, she and her family were presented with the opportunity to move abroad to Brussels, Belgium. After attending a private international school there, Carla was heavily exposed to a different way of life, education, and culture. Years later, she attended the U of W where she obtained her B.A. in Child Psychology and French, putting her on track to a B.Ed. While finishing her teaching degree, she was hired as an Occasional Teacher with the GECDSB, enabling her to step foot into various schools across the city and county. While teaching long term, Carla pursued her M.Ed. focusing on Curriculum Studies and English Language Learners in English and French Classrooms. She sat on the Rotary Club of Essex’s board, Safari Soirée. When she’s not in her classroom, you can find Carla tutoring or coaching school sports. She enjoys traveling to new destinations and immersing herself in their culture. Carla’s unique childhood experiences abroad, vast educational background, and current involvement in local schools join her with an extensive input to We Are One.
